Does an indemnity check closes a case?
I was injured on my job and I had to obtain an attorney for worker's compensation purposes. My case has been pending for about 3 years now. My attorney recently contacted me about an indemnity check. He says that this check does not close my case or anything, this check is just for the loss that I had for my injuries. I thought that pain and suffering, and the loss that I in cured was all included in my lawsuit case. i didn't know that there was a separate check for that. I sometimes have to question if my attorney is really being truthful with me, because the amount that he is asking for continues to go down, mainly because he claims the defendant don't want to pay what we are asking for. I want to hire another attorney, and fire this one, but I am afraid that I may obtain another that may be worse than what I already have. This is one of the reasons why I am questioning the indemnity check issue. Can someone help me please?
